Discover the city’s heritage and how it has grown to be the progressive hub it is today with a 90-minute bus tour.

Beginning in Albert Square in the heart of the city centre, the green Sightseeing Manchester hop-on, hop-off open-top bus takes you on a trip around the city and the modern waterfront developments at Salford Quays.

The 12-stop tour has been carefully planned to take you past some of Manchester’s key sights including, Manchester and Salford Cathedrals, the National Football Museum, Salford Quays & Media City, the Museum of Science and Industry Museum, and Manchester United Football Club.

The tour offers English commentary by Lord of the Rings and Lost actor Dominic Monaghan and a free to download app which offers commentary in French, Mandarin, German, Spanish and Arabic.

How to get there:

Tours start from Albert Square/Manchester Town Hall in the heart of the city (outside Slug & Lettuce), bus stop WD, postcode M2 5HD. Another popular stop is Piccadilly Gardens bus station, Bus stop R opposite Wetherspoons – postcode M1 2AP.

The nearest Metrolink stop to Albert Square is St Peter’s Square.
