With your Manchester Pass, you won’t have to worry about transport zones and ticket prices. A valid Manchester Pass will allow you to take unlimited travel on the tram network (named the ‘Metrolink’) for the period you have your valid Manchester Pass.

You’ll also have access to a variety of train providers with your Manchester Pass, going to and from our local towns and regions in Greater Manchester.

A DAY FOR FOOTBALL FANS

Mad about football? We’ve got you covered!

Start your morning off by visiting one of the prestigious football teams of Manchester (Manchester United FC and/or Manchester City FC), exploring their heritage through unique memorabilia and interactive displays. Take a tour of the stadium and discover what makes these clubs the way they are today.

After visiting the stadiums, you could head back into the city centre for lunch at the 24 Bar and Grill restaurant.

Enjoy an afternoon exploring one of the world’s biggest and best football museums at the National Football Museum. As well as this head over to Piccadilly Gardens and look for the Red Plaque commemorating where the world’s first football league was created.

Finally, top your evening off with an authentic Chinese meal at the award-winning Yang-Sing restaurant in China Town.

The Lowry Manchester

A DAY OF ARTS AND CULTURE

Kick off your day with a trip to the Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art to discover new artists and explore relevant global issues from international perspectives. Be sure to pop into the gallery shop after and explore a selection of jewellery, card, home wear, prints and gifts.

Following this, head into the northern quarter to explore some of Manchester’s finest culture and maybe stop by a TNQ for some lunch.  

After lunch, you could explore and learn more about the heart of the city with a tour from Invisible Cities whose tours showcase some of the city’s historical landmarks and explore the social projects that make the city what it is. (Tours available from 11am Saturday, 2pm Sunday. Large groups may request any time but must book in advance)

After explorating the city, you could head over to Manchester Art Gallery to see some of the art that has been at the centre of city life for nearly 200 years. After, make the most of your visit and stop by the Museum Café for a ‘Northern Nostalgic’ afternoon tea.

In the evening you could take the Metrolink over to The Lowry for a meal and the theatre and see a performance while also learning more about the history of the area. Then top your day off with an evening meal of modern British cuisine at Pier 8 restaurant.

A DAY AROUND MANCHESTER'S HERITAGE

Delve into the history of Greater Manchester with these must-see heritage hot spots.

Start your day by hoping onto Manchester’s only open top tour, the Sightseeing Bus. Enjoy the freedom of the ‘hop on, hop off’ feature, and make visits to Manchester Cathedral, Salford Museum and Art Gallery, Ordsall Hall and Salford Quays.

After a morning of exploring you could stop by the Pier 8 restaurant at The Lowry for an afternoon lunch of modern British cuisine by Salford Quays, home of the Manchester Ship Canal.

Following on from this, make the trip to the Science and Industry Museum for a fun filled and interactive afternoon before heading back into the city centre for an evening meal at the 24 Bar and Grill on Princess Street.

Day One

TWO DAY OF FUN WITH THE CHILDREN

Day One

Bringing the kids to Manchester? We’ll keep them entertained!

Take them to the East Lancashire Railway for an experience that takes you back in time and shows what travel was like from a previous era – A great experience for the whole family!

After that, head back into Manchester and explore the city by the ‘hop-on-hop-off’ Sightseeing Bus. The bus will stop at the Museum of Science and Industry which is a great place for a fun filled and interactive afternoon.

Day Two

Day One

Start your first day with a trip to the Science and Industry Museum for a fun filled and interactive morning. After, you could tour all the sights of Manchester, on board the city’s Sightseeing Bus. The ‘hop on, hop off’ tour allows you to visit sites at your choosing and continue your bus tour after.

Perhaps after you’ve seen the city, hop off the bus at stops 13 or 14 and head over to Manchester Gin for an afternoon gin distillery tour and guided tasting session that will give you an insight into the distillery life in Manchester.

Finally, enjoy an evening meal just next door in the Three Little Words restaurant where you can sip exquisite drinks and relax in casual elegance.

Day Two

Start off your second day by visiting either Manchester City FC and/or Manchester United FC Stadium and Museum Tours (both accessible via the Metrolink) and see what makes these football clubs some of the best clubs in the world.

Afterwards, you could really get to know the city you are visiting by joining a tour run by Jonathan Schofield Tours. With over 20 years’ experience Jonathan really knows all there is too know about Manchester.

Finally, enjoy a guided tour of one of Manchester’s oldest buildings, Manchester Cathedral, which sports a grand gothic exterior and an interior with the best late medieval woodwork in England.

Day Three

On your final day, head towards Bury to visit the East Lancashire Railway and take the trip of a lifetime along this heritage railway which runs for 12 miles through scenic Lancastrian landscapes.

In the afternoon, why now visit Manchester’s National Football Museum which boast some of the world’s finest collection of football artefacts and archives. Considered one of the best football museums in the world the National Football Museum is a must-see when visiting Manchester.

Finally, to finish off your day you could make the trip to Elizabeth Gaskell’s House to see where it was the famous novelist lived and wrote some of her most famous pieces of work.
